Tell us about Chaarge
Chaarge provides complete solutions - from specification to maintenance - for the supply and ongoing management of electric vehicle (EV) charge points. We work with a range of clients, including businesses, universities, and clubs, to facilitate easy installation of EV charge points. Our business spans different models and types of EV charge points across various types of sites and site ownership structures.
We’re backed by more than 10 years of EV experience and can provide consultancy services for EV projects, in which we advise about all aspects of the EV charge point acquisition process - including admin and billing, grant applications, and ongoing management.
What is your biggest business achievement so far?
Chaarge only launched in November 2022, but has already executed sizable projects. For example, replacing, extending, and managing a large university EV charging facility in a 200-bay car park.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned since starting your business?
Having founded multiple businesses and having managed and sold businesses to private equity clients, I’ve learnt that this process takes time. It can take 3 years to build a business, with a lot of hiccups and lessons learnt along the way.
How has Rocket Lawyer helped your business?
Rocket Lawyer is a great service for all startups in what is an increasingly complex and legally challenging business environment. We used Rocket Lawyer’s services to create much of our basic startup documentation and to help in setting out our processes. For example, we’ve created Purchase orders, Invoices, Data protection documents, and various customer contracts.

I’ve found Rocket Lawyer’s platform to be easy to use and intuitive. Overall, it’s a really useful and good-value online service, especially for startups and SMEs who don’t have in-house legal resources but need legal support and guidance.
