Sales Agency Agreement checklist

Here are a few important steps to take to finish your document

Make sure the Agreement is complete. In particular, note that Schedule 4 (the terms and conditions of business for sales by the agent) must be attached before the Agreement is signed. You can attach Schedule 4 by either:

  • attaching the terms and conditions when you print off a Word or PDF version of the document, or

  • pasting the terms and conditions into a Word version of the document before you print it.

Read the document to make sure it meets your needs and that everyone involved agrees with the Sales Agency Agreement. Remember that if you have any questions you can easily Ask a lawyer.

Both parties (ie the principal and the agent) must sign the Sales Agency Agreement.

Signing online

  1. You can sign online using RocketSign.

Signing in print

  1. Print a copy of the Agreement for the principal (ie you) and the agent. Make sure that you have attached the terms and conditions of business at Schedule 4.

  2. Date and sign the copies and send them to the agent.

  3. Ask the agent to date and sign the copies and return one to you. The agent will keep a copy for their records.

The date of the Agreement is the date on which the parties signed if that was the same day. If they signed on different days, then it is the day when the last person signed.

The agent should keep their own original signed Agreement. You should keep your original signed Agreement for your records.

A copy of the Sales Agency Agreement will also be stored automatically in your Rocket Lawyer account ‘Dashboard’.
