Tell us a bit about you and your business.
My name is Cavelle and I’m the owner and sole proprietor of Angle Accountants.
Angle Accountants started in June 2012. We do everything from a tax and accounting perspective. Although we’re a small team, we’re a tight knit bunch of people who are experts in our fields.
Having worked in the industry and in practice, I realised that a lot of practices are pretty much the same. What’s unique about Angle Accountants is that I’ve tried to provide a personalised service to each client. Each business is different and they want to create and maintain a relationship with you so my approach really recognises that.
I’m always at the forefront of my business and I make sure each client knows that I’m there to help them, 24/7.
Who are your customers?
Pretty much everyone.
Most of our clients are limited companies so I try to engage with company directors and directors of small businesses. But, our customers are those who need any sort of financial or tax advice.
What’s your biggest business achievement so far?
Receiving local awards and having clients (both existing and prospective) know who we are.
The industry is already quite saturated and we’re seeing more and more accountancy firms popping up. So, getting recognition as an accountancy practice has been a great achievement.
How was Rocket Lawyer able to help you?
I was looking for a tool that would help me write business plans. A few of my clients also wanted employment contracts.
Rocket Lawyer is great for me. It’s a service I really like and find useful. Rocket Lawyer gave me the opportunity to write the documents I needed without having to go through legal jargon or compiling reams of information. Everything was there for me to use and tailor.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned since you’ve started your own business?
The importance of advertising.
When I first started out, I didn’t do any forms of advertising. Clients suggested me to new clients through word of mouth. I’m doing a lot more advertising now.
There are lots of opportunities to do your own advertising without paying a hefty sum. I’m beginning to understand the importance of social media advertising and find these outlets are extremely useful for your business.
What are your plans for the future?
For my business, I hope to expand! Every year, we’ve seen 5-10% growth. I’d ideally like to get to the point where I employ more staff and get more clients. I want to get chatting and networking more to build those relationships.
Personally, I’ve got a few plans in the works, one of them is to extend my house!
