Charley Moore

Charley Moore

Founder and CEO

Charley is the Founder and CEO of Rocket Lawyer Incorporated. His experience as an attorney representing startups exposed him to both the high cost and high value of great legal advice. So, he started Rocket Lawyer to deliver high value legal services at a price nearly everyone can afford. Today, Rocket Lawyer is one of the most widely used legal services in the world, with operations in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Charley has been engaged in Internet law and business since beginning his career as an attorney at Venture Law Group in Menlo Park, California. He represented Yahoo! (IPO), WebTV Networks (acquired by Microsoft) and Cerent Corporation (acquired by Cisco Systems) at critical early stages and was the founder of Onstation Corporation (acquired by The Cobalt Group).

Charley graduated from the United States Naval Academy (BS) and the University of California at Berkeley (Juris Doctorate). He served as a U.S. Naval officer and is a Gulf War veteran. He currently serves on the board of directors at Matriculate.

David C. Drummond

Former SVP at Google

David Drummond joined Google in 2002, initially as Vice President of Corporate Development. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer and led Google's global teams for legal, government relations, corporate development (M&A and investment projects), and new business development (strategic partnerships and licensing opportunities). David retired from Google in 2020.

David was first introduced to Google in 1998 as a partner in the corporate transactions group at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, one of the nation's leading law firms representing technology businesses. He served as Google's first outside counsel and worked with Larry Page and Sergey Brin to incorporate the company and secure its initial rounds of financing. During his tenure at Wilson Sonsini, David worked with a wide variety of technology companies to help them manage complex transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and initial public offerings.

David earned his Bachelor's degree in history from Santa Clara University and his JD from Stanford Law School.

David Flannery joined Vista Credit Partners ("VCP") in New York in 2018 as its President and serves as a member of Vista's Executive Committee, the firm's governing and decision-making body for matters affecting its overall management and strategic direction. Mr. Flannery reports to Vista's Founder, Robert F. Smith, and is responsible for setting strategy for VCP, in addition to overseeing all credit transactions.

Before joining Vista, Mr. Flannery was a partner with Blackstone's GSO Capital. He was Co-Head and Joint Portfolio Manager of the Capital Solutions Funds and a member of the Distressed Credit Investment Committee. Prior to joining GSO, Mr. Flannery was a Portfolio Manager with Anchorage Capital in New York. He focused on illiquid credit investing and was a member of the CLO Investment Committee and Risk Committee. Prior to Anchorage, Mr. Flannery worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch ("BAML") where he held several global group head roles, including Chief Risk Officer of Global Banking & Markets and Global Head of Leveraged Finance & Capital Markets. Before joining BAML, Mr. Flannery was the Global Head of Leveraged Finance at Deutsche Bank. He began his career at Bankers Trust Company in 1992 in the high yield bond department.

Mr. Flannery is a board member of Meltwater and Rocket Lawyer and a formal board observer of Callisto Media, both portfolio companies of VCP. He serves on the board of Intrensic, a SaaS software company. He also serves on the Board of DREAM, a nonprofit serving youths in New York City.

Mr. Flannery holds a BS in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance from Villanova University.

Brendan Renehan

Brendan Renehan joined Vista Credit Partners in 2018 and is a Director. Prior to joining Vista, Mr. Renehan worked at Ares Management in the Direct Lending division for four years, most recently as a Senior Associate. While at Ares, Mr. Renehan underwrote and maintained credit facilities for corporate and sponsor-backed companies across a wide array of industries, including software, healthcare, and business services, among others. In addition to his credit responsibilities, Mr. Renehan also assisted in strategic endeavors of the firm, including portfolio acquisitions and fundraising activities. Before his time with Ares Management, Mr. Renehan was an Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Leveraged Finance division, where he assisted in underwriting and syndicating public and private debt facilities with transactions including corporate mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations and refinancings.

Mr. Renehan is a board member of Rocket Lawyer. He holds a BA in Political Economy from Georgetown University.

Issac Vaughn is the Chief Operating Officer of Zenefits. He has more than 20 years of experience representing and working with high-growth technology companies.

Before Zenefits, Issac was a senior executive at Ooyala, last serving as CEO. As a former partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he practiced for 14 years, Issac co-led a group that worked with both public and private technology companies. He was a founding partner of Bennu Venture Group, a stage-agnostic venture capital firm, and Managing Director of SC Investments Consulting, a boutique angel investment and consulting company. He currently serves on several non-profit and for-profit boards.

Issac holds a JD from the University of Michigan and a BS in Economics from Santa Clara University.

Paul Hollerbach has over 25 years of experience helping companies build operational and finance excellence. Paul resumed his full-time position as CFO in October 2021.

Prior to Rocket Lawyer, Paul served as CFO at Current TV (acquired in 2012) and in senior-level finance positions at Yahoo!, including VP Corporate Controller and VP Finance & Investor Relations. Earlier in his career, he worked at Silicon Graphics, KPMG, and E&Y.

Sumit Malhotra joined Rocket Lawyer in 2021 as its Chief Technology Officer. He leads the technology organization and is a visionary technology executive with over two decades of experience building and scaling large, high-performing engineering teams. He is passionate about data, machine learning, and emerging blockchain and crypto technologies.

Prior to Rocket Lawyer, Sumit was SVP Engineering at PwC, New Ventures, where he launched six different start-ups for SMB customers. Before that, Sumit was the CTO at Owler (acquired by Meltwater), and also held engineering leadership positions with Datalogix (acquired by Oracle), Yahoo, Acxiom, ShareThis, and Kinetics (acquired by NCR).

Sumit holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Mumbai. He also completed the Stanford Executive Program in Leadership at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

Erik has been involved with Rocket Lawyer as outside counsel since its formation in 2008 and as General Counsel since 2016. Erik has worked with technology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1996, both in private practice (WSGR and Riegler Legal) and as General Counsel (LookSmart, THX and Rocket Lawyer).

After graduating with his law degree, he started his career as a law clerk for Judge Stotler in U.S. District Court in southern California. Erik holds BA and JD degrees from U.C. Berkeley and an MS degree from the London School of Economics.

He enjoys helping technology companies innovate, scale, and create value for customers. He also enjoys skiing, biking, hiking and spending time outdoors with his family.

For nearly 15 years, she has helped a number of Bay Area technology companies strategically leverage the most critical resources of a business: its people. This experience includes talent acquisition in competitive markets, talent management and development for growth of the organization, and development of the People function as a strategic partner to the business. She has held leadership positions with Meltwater, Vendavo, Apttus, and Accela.

Rob has helped start a number of new areas within Rocket Lawyer, including Legal Filings and Marketing Automation. He now leads Product Operations with this same mission—to make the law easy and affordable for everyone.

Ken has a 20-year record of successfully building high performing SaaS Sales and Revenue Teams at both startups and larger organizations like Adobe and Cisco. Ken also spent 9 years practicing law in both commercial litigation and General Counsel roles.

Ken graduated from the University of Southern California with dual degrees in Political Science and International Relations and a Minor in Russian Studies, served as U.S. Naval Intelligence Officer, and is a Gulf War Veteran. After his naval service, Ken graduated, Cum Laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
